A record year, with a summer season above expectations and even higher performance than pre-Covid levels, is what Human Company, the most important Italian capital company in the open air segment, expects, 40 years after its birth.
To date, the Florentine Group - which has ten outdoor facilities including Village and Camping in town, of which there are nine in Italy and one in Luxembourg - estimates to close 2022 with revenues of 123 million euros, up 40% compared to 2021 and 11% compared to 2019 and an EBITDA of 32 million euros, up 33% on 2021 and 3% on 2019. Occupancy also returns to pre-Covid levels, standing at just over 4 million.
The facilities with the best performance of the season in terms of occupancy cover the entire range of Human Company destinations: hu Altomincio Village, the village that is a few kilometres from Lake Garda, with an occupation between June and August of 89.73%, followed by the city leader hu Firenze Camping in Town with an occupancy percentage of 88.08% and the hu Park Albatros Village, along the Etruscan Coast, with 87.33% occupancy.
As for the origin of the guests, the Group's villages have a significant direct occupancy of Italians, who at 40% surpass the Dutch (25%) and the Germans (15%). A result confirmed also in the three Camping in Town locations of the Group in Florence, Rome and Venice, where the domestic occupancy was 33%, followed by Germans (17%) and French (8%). Looking back, all the Group's outdoor facilities show an increase in the presence of Italians, which marks a trend of 10% growth in the three-year period 2020-2022 compared to pre-Covid data. The data testifies to the positive trend recorded by the sector which, thanks to its ability to evolve, has managed to gain the trust of Italians, offering quality services and every kind of comfort.
Luca Belenghi, CEO of Human Company, commented: "We can celebrate our 40th birthday with great enthusiasm thanks to these extraordinary numbers that allow us to look positively to the future and continue to invest in the development of our ambitious projects on the Italian territory: in Veneto, with Eraclea Village, a village that will be among the largest, modern and innovative in Europe and DeltaFarm, the biodiversity village that will convert the Enel thermal power plant in Porto Tolle; in Tuscany, in Cavriglia, the first large tourist park dedicated to sport in Italy and Sant'Albinia Village, in the territory of Piombino, a natural extension of our hu Park Albatros Village".
Founded in 1982 by the Cardini Vannucchi family, the Group is now a leader in Italy in the field of outdoor accommodation with a wide and diversified tourist offer, the result of a courageous acquisition and investment activity. Innovation, quality, sustainability and connection with the territory are the values on which the Group's activity has been based for 40 years. With a view to an innovative development plan and a constant improvement of the stay experience, Human Company prepared for the 2022 season by supporting an important investment plan of 20 million euros with the launch of the new open air hu brand, dedicated to its portfolio of outdoor facilities for an increasingly tailor-made and quality stay, while continuing on the path of digitisation of the guest experience undertaken in the past seasons.
